The Tranquil Terrace — R-Blade Pergola with Privacy Screens, Chesapeake

This Chesapeake project is built around an Azenco R-Blade louvered pergola — the motorized louver system allows the space to transition from open sun to full shade or rain cover in seconds, extending daily and seasonal use significantly beyond a conventional fixed-roof structure.

Retractable privacy screens and soft drapery panels create an enclosed, intimate zone without closing off the space entirely. The layout is designed for both quiet daily use and small-group entertaining, with a seating configuration that works across both modes. The surrounding landscape and warm material palette were selected to integrate the structure into the existing home's exterior rather than contrast against it.
